Lee County Transit public workshop

LeeTran, the county’s bus transportation system, seeks the public’s ideas for transportation projects.

An outreach meeting will be held this afternoon to develop a locally coordinated human services transportation plan.

It will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Southwest Florida Regional Planning Council, 1926 Victoria Ave., Fort Myers.

Attendees include the general public, human services agencies, private and nonprofit transportation providers, veterans affairs, affordable housing providers, educators, faith- based organizations, government, advocacy groups, health care industry, employers and workforce development agencies.

New funding sources are available to implement original and innovative projects recommended by the public. New projects must serve targeted populations including the following:
* Low-income
* Unemployed and Under-employed
* Elderly
* Disabled
